Dr. Brett Ziegler is licensed in Illinois in General Veterinary practice. He received his Veterinary Medicine degree at the University of Missouri in 1992. Dr. Ziegler’s undergraduate degree was earned at Central Methodist College in Fayette, Missouri in 1987. Following completion of his Veterinary degree he spent one year in Hamilton, IL working in a general Vet practice. He moved to Fairview Heights in 1997 after four years of practice in Central Florida.
When not at work, Brett enjoys spending time with his family. He enjoys going on trips with family and the occasional hunting trip with friends. Brett likes to invest in the future of veterinary medicine by mentoring future veterinarians and educating veterinary technicians.

Dr. Craig Thacker is an Associate Veterinarian at Fairview Heights Animal Clinic as well as the Animal Hospital of O’Fallon. Dr. Thacker attended pre-vet at the University of Nebraska and went on to earn his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University in 1986. His areas of professional interest include exotic animals and internal medicine.
Dr. Thacker’s love of animals and veterinary medicine leads all the way back to Junior High in his hometown of Grand Island, Nebraska. To this day, Dr. Thacker still believes the best part about working in the veterinary field is meeting new clients and getting the opportunity to help their beloved pets any way he can! Through the years, he has been able to clinically train with Grand Island Veterinary Clinic as well as Northern Animal Hospital of Phoenix, Arizona.
Having been settled in Belleville, Illinois since 2014 with his wife and daughter, Dr. Thacker has a variety of interests that keep him occupied outside of the exam room. His family keeps busy with their two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels named Prada and Gucci, as well as their senior cat named Elsa. With any free time he has left at the end of the week, Dr. Thacker enjoys reading, travelling, kite flying, crewing for hot air balloons, and playing the bagpipes! He admits that while exotics, wildlife, and zoology are all areas of interest of his, he has a deep passion for his bagpiping. He has even had the opportunity to play alongside the Illinois Symphony Orchestra.
Dr. Melissa McDearmon earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Illinois and completed a Small Animal Medicine and Surgery Internship at Georgia Veterinary Specialists.
When she’s not at work, she can be found reading, swimming, spending time with her children and pets, or organizing scouting and school events.

Danyil has worked in the veterinary industry since 2004 and is proud to serve as one of Fairview Heights Animal Clinic and the Animal Hospital of O’Fallon’s veterinary technicians. Danyil was born and raised in Missouri, but currently resides in Belleville IL with her two dogs Georgia and Ryder. Danyil enjoys being outdoors and spending time with her family.
Ekatarina (Kat) has been part of Fairview Heights Animal Clinic for many years and in grooming the past 3 years. She loves making dogs and cats not only look good, but also feel great after their grooms. Ekatarina lives in Belleville, Illinois with her fiancé, Mitchell their cat Mr. Whiskers and their 2 crazy dogs Tank and Mordekai. She enjoys listening to old country music and doing relaxing coloring pages on her time off.
Jenn started working with Fairview Height Animal clinic in 2022, she loves animals, and enjoys getting to be around them daily! She is a mom of 3 kids, Sky, Kyler and Zoey, has 2 pet kiddos also Bob(kitty), and Jack(doggy) that she raises with her partner Zach! She enjoys outdoors, shopping, and most of all family time.
Keri is a graduate of the Vet Tech Institute at Hickey College, and a board-Certified Veterinary Technician. Keri is not only passionate about preventive care for every pet, but she also loves to expand her knowledge in surgery. She has one daughter, Jazlynne, who is 8 years old. They enjoy traveling together and going to St Louis Cardinal games. They have 2 dogs – A 4-year-old Schnauzer named Schatzie, and a 1-year-old Biewer Terrier mix named Roxy
Laura joined the FHAC/AHOF team in 2008 as a receptionist. Laura always has a smile on her face and tries to make every interaction as positive and welcoming as possible. Growing up, Laura had many different animals in her life. From cats and dogs to horses and cows. While away from work Laura enjoys spending time with her nieces, and her kitties
Megan went to school at Midwest institute for veterinary technician in 2007. She has been with FHAC since March of 2023 and absolutely adores all the clients and their pets. She has a beautiful 2 year old daughter named Edyn as well as 2 fur babies Ember(dog) and Skrimp(cat).
Melanie is a 2012 graduate of Brown Mackie College. She has spent the last 11 years working for a local clinic. She joined the team in April of 2024 and is excited to meet all of our wonderful patients and owners. Melanie is a lifelong resident of Belleville where she resides with her 3 cats;Tara,Martin Brodeur, and Binner and two dogs; Jayde and Mateo. When not at work Melanie is often at home snuggled with her own pets, reading, crocheting, or spending time outdoors. Melanie is also an avid St. Louis blues fan and tries to catch as many games each season as possible.
Myrinda graduated from Pima Institute in 2012 as a Veterinary Technician. Myrinda not only is passionate about all animals, but she loves veterinary dentistry! Myrinda was raised in Texas, but currently resides in Belleville, IL with her fiance and their 4 dogs and 2 cats. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her fur babies! Myrinda enjoys travel, movies, and the outdoors.
Rachael joined our team as a receptionist in 2023 and is now enjoying getting to train with the technicians as well. She really enjoys getting to interact with the clients and their pets. She has two dogs (Riley, Molly) and a cat Zoey. When she isn’t working, Rachael enjoys spending time with her 12 year old daughter and her husband.
Cheyenne is new to the veterinarian field. She has spent most of her career working in Health Information Management, primarily as a medical coder, after obtaining her Associates Degree in Health Information Management from St. Louis Community College Forest Park in 2014.
She lives in Bethalto with her husband, Bryan, and 2 furry kids- a black lab, Moo, and a boxer/pit mix named Rocket.
In her spare time she enjoys spending time with friends and family- she will never turn down a karaoke night! She also enjoys traveling, baking, and watching horror movies.
